T/S Hanna what?

It is not even 9PM on a Saturday night and I think I may go to sleep immediately.  Today was a long, but great day!!

Let me start with a recap of the rest of yesterday.

Workout #1
I went to the gym and found this new and FABULOUS piece of equipment.  To be honest, this thing has been there for at least a few months but due to my knee I haven’t ever used it.  And I never see other people on it either.  It is called the Cardio Wave and it is a lot like rollerblading, but with a lot less impact/pressure on the knee.

It really worked my abductor muscles, my adductors, hamstrings and quads.  I really liked it.  After 40 minutes on it, I had gone 10 miles and it said I had burned 615 calories, but I obviously know that is not true!

After work, I went back to the gym to kill time waiting for Justin to be done with work.  I figured I would lift while I was there.

Exercise Weight Reps/Sets
Bicep curls 30 lb d.b 6/6
Skull crushers 20 lb d.b 6/6
Shoulder Press 30 lb d.b. 6/6
Front Lat raises 2 10lb b.b 6/6
Side lat raises 2 10lb b.b. 6/6

Time: 25 minutes

On the way home from work we stopped at Red, White and Bleu and had a quick wine tasting.  They were doing pinot noirs and we bought a wine by Nathalie’s estates that was fabulous.  They also had some tasting of feta cheese that tasted like heaven.

Finally we got on the road around 7:30PM and traffic was really light.  That was great!  We stopped at Sheetz on the way to the ‘burg, and I got a chef salad (blue cheese dressing on the side–I had maybe 1/4 of the container).

On the side we had split a bag of veggie chips.  I like these a lot—airy and not too salty.

And because Justin did not want me to fall asleep on the ride, I decided some caffeine was needed.

Good thing I don’t go by a Sheetz’s often because I would live off these things.  It was a frozen latte made with skim milk, sugar-free caramel and no whipped cream.  Size small.  It was like a latte milkshake!

Once we got to Mom’s, I had a glass of merlot and sat around and talked.  We went to sleep at around 1AM.

Saturday
We woke up at 7:30 this morning…and I really wanted to keep sleeping.  But the knowledge that I had eating and drinking was in front of me, I made myself get up and go jogging.  Here is the view from my Mom’s house out on the porch from our bedroom.  So different from Northern Virginia.  I miss the country!

This picture is looking at the houses/barns behind the house.  My brother and sister in law live next door to my mom and they breed horses.  You can’t see any of the horses in this picture but there are always quite a few horses roaming around my parents/brother’s land.

Justin and I headed up into town to go running because there isn’t a shoulder on the side of the road near Mom’s house.  We split a Luna bar on the way.  Peanut Butter Cookie.  It doesn’t really taste like a peanut butter cookie, but it did taste like authentic peanut butter.

The run was really nice.  It was raining a little bit (Hanna) which made it feel so good.  We ran for 45 minutes.  The best part was running around the Drill Field while the Corps was playing to wake up the Freshman.  Nothing like hearing your school’s fight song while you are out running.  Motivational!

After we got home I knew that I needed to eat a good, hearty breakfast before a day out at a tailgate.  I had the same as the last few days–Chunky Monkey Oats.  After I took this picture, I was told we were walking out the door for the game (I had already showered) so this got moved into a to-go mug.  By the time I actually ate it, it wasn’t too crunchy.  Still tasted great though!

I love my mom’s cute bowls.  I need cuter bowls!

We got to the tailgate around 10AM and started setting up.  Justin and I cracked our first beer soon there after.

I didn’t really eat anything before I went into the game.  I had 2 big Coors Light, 1 small margarita (in memory of my dad) from the daiquiri whacker, and then a jell-o shot.  And when we say a Jell-O shot, we mean a Jell-o shot.

And I had an orange one later on before the game.

During the game, I maybe split a diet coke with some Jim Beam mixed in it.

Here is a picture of my nephew and I together during the game.

We went out during half time, at which time I had a small glass of a Beaujolais and some grilled veggies and 3 bites of sausage.

After the game, which Virginia Tech looked a lot better in the second half (it is amazing how much better we do when we run the ball!), we headed back to the tailgate for about 2 hours just relaxing and watching the ECU vs WVU game.  Way to go ECU!!!  I had a miller light and then some water/diet coke.  I snacked on some food while we were there (it was almost 6, I needed to eat some!), I had some bean salad (lima beans, garbanzos beans and a few other kinds.) that was mixed with vinegar and then some tortilla chips.

I think I did pretty good at the game.  I didn’t eat a whole lot tailgating and I didn’t drink a ton (yes, I used to drunk a lot more than this!)

Dinner
We ate dinner outside on the patio, which was so nice.  I really miss being in the country where you can’t see your neighbors, all you hear is wildlife sounds and there are gorgeous stars.  Mom made dinner tonight.  My stomach had started to ache, so I just had some plain lettuce with grilled chicken on top.  I added some balsamic vinegar dressing.  I had (quite a bit) of bread on the side.

I had a glass of wine at dinner (but I really don’t think I needed/wanted it)

Mom made an amazing peach cobbler.  I LOVE peach cobbler.  I ended up having 2 servings.  Yes, that is right…2 servings.  I was STUFFED afterwards!  First plate:

It was a great dinner and a really good day.  The tailgate wasn’t too overwhelming and crowded, which I liked.  My mother’s tailgate is unreal.  The send out invitations (yes, invitations) and they mailed out over 250 invitations this season…which means about 500 people are invited.  Obviously that many people do not come but still, it is unreal.  It was suppose to rain all day today, so a lot of people did not come, and we were playing Furman, so a lot of people didn’t come.  Thank goodness we won and the weather was sunny and if anything, hot.  Tomorrow morning we are going to take Kristen out to brunch and then probably hit the road some time afterwards.  I want to stop by the house because the appliances and flooring are in.  I can’t wait to see it all!!!  And I want to go to the gym and I really must get the introduction and the #1 case study on the chapter I am working on in my thesis submitted.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
