Surprise, Surprise!

I know…a mid afternoon post from me!  Unheard of!  I just wanted to put a little blog love out there on a Friday afternoon.  I am getting excited for the weekend, despite the fact I am moving.  I think I am going to make myself work on the thesis for an hour or so this evening before I leave work and then not look at it again until Sunday.  I can feel a little thesis burn-out setting in so this seems like a good plan.

Anyway, my little friday parting gift:

(oh yes, and I think my Timbuk2 order is waiting for me at home.  Oh how I heart you Timbuk2!!)

Hello, FRIDAY!!

Happy Friday everyone!  Like always, the joys of Friday’s never ceases to diminish.  Any big plans this weekend for anyone?  I am just happy that I don’t have to get in my car for 4-5 hours tonight after work!

Look at this fabulous stuff that I got in the mail yesterday from Rob over at Kardea Nutrition:

Kardea nutrition bars!!  I am really excited to try these out.  There are 4 different flavors: Banana Walnut, Chai Spice, Cranberry Almond, and Lemon Ginger. They each have 7 grams of total fiber, 7 grams of protein, they are vegetarian (two of them are vegan), and only 150 calories each. They work towards natural cholesterol management.  I am very excited about these.  I will be giving you guys full reviews as I taste them.  These will be so perfect for all the on the go moving that I have in front of me!

Here is my little sweet treat that I had last night before heading down to bed:

icecream1

MmmmmM, Candy corn!  With a little scoop of ice cream, a bit of raisin bran and half a sheet of graham cracker.

Breakfast

I am back to warm oats this morning and I am very happy about that.  1/2 cup of oats, 1/4 cup of egg beaters, 3/4 cup of water, 1/2T of cinnamon.  Heated for 2:30 minutes on 60% power.  Then I added some coconut, trail mix and a granola chunk.

Oh and I saw this on another blog and I was VERY excited to try it out!

AM Snack

Just trying to get rid of the last of the edamame.  Does anyone know how long ready to eat edamame (in the pods) last?  Mine always seems to get iffy in about 5 days.  Is typical?

I just love how long it takes me to eat a serving of this stuff!

Lunch

I didn’t finish all of my grocery store salad last night (probably a good thing!) so I added a few more veggies and the rest of the steak strips to it. There is a little bit of salad dressing drizzled in there.

Then I grabbed a wasa cracker (for some fiber) and a banana (for post work out potassium/magnesium recovery)

And finally, my dessert–rice pudding.  You would think I would get bored of this stuff at one point!

PM Snack

I saved the best for last this week:

I had the Lemon Cream Pie yesterday and I would definitely say that it is now in second place.  I really liked the lemon flavor.  It wasn’t too strong or artificial.

Summary

About Me: 28-year old, fairly newlywed (Spring 2007) that lives in Northern VA. Work full time, love my job, have an unfortunately long daily commute.

While an obsessive long distance runner, I am still trying to recover from 2 major knee surgeries. Atleast I am able to (semi) run again.

In the past, I definitely have not always fed my body correctly to support all the running I did. Simply put, my aim was to be the smallest weight/size possible. Now, my aim is to eat healthy, well rounded and simply to enjoy as much of life without worry about the calorie content and what the tenth of a pound the scale is showing me.
