We survived Monday!! And I am taking Wednesday off, so it is almost like tomorrow is hump day…kind of. Anyway, today was good but I felt pretty exhausted all day long. I guess that is from moving boxes this weekend. I did go to the gym over lunch, and well, did the obvious–Cardio Wave. For lunch today, I had that Cedarline Pizza Veggie Wrap….umm, I saw one black olive and no other veggies. It basically tasted like pizza sauce in a wrap. The cheese didn’t even seem very melted. I would not buy this again. I was pretty let down. I was envisioning something stuffed with vegetables, not just a wrap stuffed full of pizza sauce. I don’t even like pizza sauce when it is on a pizza! Needless to say, I didn’t feel very satisfied with lunch and ended up eating my Kardea bar then. I had the banana nut bar today. Initially, I noticed the smell, which was a little off putting but I can’t really explain why. I think it just didn’t smell like I expected. But the texture and flavor of the bar did not let me down. It was soft and chewy with a little bit of crunchy. The banana flavors from mildly prominent…in a good way. It was subtle like a banana flavor should be without seeming fake. Like the other bar, it wasn’t too overly sweetened, which I liked.
I had PT after work today and needed to stop by CVS to pick up prescription. While I was there I grabbed a bar because I had already eaten my PT planned bar. I only wanted something around 100 calories and I couldn’t find anything. Everything had at least 220 or more! Yes, I could have eaten only half of one of those, but that really is asking for a lot of self restraint out of me…and I typically fail miserably when put in situations such as those. So I grabbed a Special K protein bar. This was pretty good. I probably wouldn’t buy a box of these, but for being in a crunch, it hit the spot.
PT was good. I only have one session left. But the one thing I did notice while I was there was that I have put on some weight. Yes, I know the scale had shown it for a few weeks now but for the first time, I looked in the mirror and I looked larger. And not one specific place, just sort of all over. It really didn’t please me. I think for the time being I really just need to watch my sugar/sweet intake. If I can keep that and any unnecessary calories out of my body, then I should be okay. No need to eat junk or something that my body cannot use as fuel. Hopefully this will at least slim down the widening aspect for the mean time.
When I got home from PT, I picked up the mail and I had the best surprise. A Foodbuzz package! This made my Monday!
Sorry about the semi gross look, this is post PT and pre shower. But anyway, they sent me an adorable apron and a spatula that says Foodbuzz. I was very excited!
Once Justin got home from work, we decided where to go eat out. We picked El Paso Cafe in Ballston. Yes, a bit further than we had planned but this place will seem WAY TOO FAR to go eat once we move. Yes, I’ll admit to having some chips and salsa, but I did make Just take it away before too much damage was done.
I also ordered a Corona Light.
I got my standard–veggie fajitas with corn tortillas. I had 1 and a half tortillas. I didn’t eat any of my rice and beans and just a little bit of the guacamole.
I love all the fresh veggies (broccolini, mushrooms, carrots, onions and tomatoes). I basically just eat all this with a fork instead of fajita style.
Got home and watched How I Met Your Mother (so glad this is back on!!!) and had a little handful of goodness before getting in bed to blog.
Okay, time for me to head to bed. Like always, and early morning. Soon, I promise this blog will have cooking and be more exciting again…soon!
