Hope you all have had a good weekend! I just noticed that I apparently left my camera cable at work, so that means all my photos are being held hostage by my camera. Apologies!! I’ll add them on Tuesday.
Workout
The clock hit 6:45PM on Friday night and I told myself it was time to pack up and leave work. I walked over to the gym and did 40 minutes on the cardio wave. I know some people hate waiting until the end of the day to workout, but I honestly think that after a week like what I had, going to the gym at night was exactly what I needed. It allowed for me to cool down and refocus on life other than work.
Dinner
On the ride home from work, Justin and I decided that we wanted sushi for dinner. It was perfect. We ordered a spicy tuna maki, crunchy shrimp tempura, rainbow roll and the lobster roll. I also got us an order of chicken lettuce wraps.
I did have some wine with my tasty sushi.

The rainbow roll and spicy tuna. The spicy tuna was TO DIE FOR!

Saturday
We woke up at around 6:30 on Saturday morning…not really ideal….and hit the road. I defrosted a banana oat muffin and put PB on one half and just spray butter on the other half.
and I packed a mug of General Foods International sugar-free mocha coffee. I used this mug that someone gave me at work because it is the new meds I am using for my Crohn’s, Lialda. Basically I asked why they had a Lialda mug and they said it was because their wife was a drug rep and they had no idea what the drug was even for. I told the guy and he decided I should have the mug…who knows. The mug ended up leaking and I threw it in the trash at a gas station.:)
We drove down and went and saw my grandmother at her assisted living place around 11:30. We tried to talk her into going out for lunch but she was determined we were eating lunch at the cafeteria there. I think she wanted to show Justin and I off. It was pretty cute. And the food wasn’t all the bad. The place is quite nice….life could definitely be worse.
After eating what I aimed to be a light lunch, we left and went to the baby shower. Cybil looked so adorable…with her teeny tiny figure and this 8 month pregnant belly. The party was a lot of fun…I really liked that it was co-ed and there was a TON of good food and drink. I limited myself to just a margarita and a beer. And I had a piece of cake that was from the same bakery in Hilton Head that did their wedding cake…it was divine.
And then started the long drive home. We were EXHAUSTED and so ready to be home. We finally got home around 8:30PM. We were in the car for over 12 hours with a few pit stops—one at the nursing home and then one at the party. I was so happy to put on my PJs!
I was fully from snacking all day but I was craving some protein, so I had some lunch meat and beans on top of a salad. This had red beans, heart of palm, celery, broccoli, turkey and some cheese.
And then I proceeded to just munch on food until I went to bed. I think it was because I knew I couldn’t eat at all today, so I wanted to create a sort of surplus to work with.
Sunday
Today was a busy, busy, busy day. I am not allowed to eat anything all day. The only thing I could consume was tea, chicken broth and jell-o that wasn’t red, orange or purple. I knew that I needed to get as much prepared for Japan as possible. and stay busy so that I wouldn’t think about how hungry I was. I finally got my itinerary down, which put a lot of worries to ease. Then Justin and I headed to the gym. I did 45 minutes on the elliptical. After the gym, we stopped at Starbucks and I had a cup of tea with a packet of sugar on the raw.
Afterwards, we went shopping and I ended up getting those shoes. I found them on sale and I was so happy. Stopped at Target to stock up on American supplies to take to Mari in Japan and went to Weggies. Let me tell you, going grocery shopping when you can’t eat is SHEER TORTURE.
Got home and then started drinking my prep.
I figured I would use a fun glass at least when I consumed this stuff:
In all honesty, this stuff doesn’t taste all that bad. It basically is like drinking about a gallon of a juice that you don’t like. It doesn’t taste awful, just not all that great. I flavored mine with the pineapple flavor pack.
I won’t go into any details for obvious reasons! But drinking this whole thing was not fun.
All I know is that I am ready to get the C’scope over with and to get back into the land of the eating! I hope that I feel fine after my procedure tomorrow and I am able to get some food into me soon. I have to be at the hospital at 10:30 and I think i’m scheduled to go in around 11:30. I don’t know if they are putting me to sleep or not. All the paperwork that they gave me says they are, but I’ve never been put to sleep for this before…usually they just give you this amnesia drug so you don’t remember anything. Who knows. I hope they aren’t putting me to sleep because I definitely did not do well with being put under with either of my knee surgeries and I don’t really feel like going through that again!
Okay, I know this wasn’t a very exciting post…no pictures and talk of my c’scope, but well…that’s life right now. But more excitingly, I packed for Japan tonight! I figured that just in case I have a week like last week again this week, that I better plan ahead. And this week I have my c’scope tomorrow, Missy’s wine and cheese party on Tuesday, Ash Wednesday is this Wednesday, so I want to go to church after work and then hopefully a normal Thursday….and Friday I need to be all packed and ready to go. I have to be at Dulles airport by 4:30-5:00AM on Saturday morning.
Okay yes, and I am STARVING. I am not built to go 36 hours without food! I am already dreaming about what I will be eating tomorrow. It could get interesting.
Have a good Monday morning!
