Really need sleep

Do you really want to know how my day went yesterday?  I honestly don’t think there are words in the English language descriptive enough to describe it.  Lets just put it out there that I worked at my desk until a little after 9PM last night.  I went home, threw food together, all while still working.  I worked until 12:30AM.  I want to cry…oh yes, I did cry.  I basically sobbed my entire car ride home.  And to make matters worse, my job basically has asked me to move to Ohio for the rest of this project (hopefully only about a month.).  I am scared that they will tell me today that I am not going to Japan tomorrow.  If anything major goes wrong, then I fully expect that to happen. 

I may never get to spend time with my husband again.  Oh yes, and I am scheduled to defend my thesis some time in March.  My thesis comes before work….they will just have to deal.  Or just pay to fly me down to Blacksburg to defend and then fly me back to Ohio.

Workout

I did go to the gym over lunch yesterday.  And I will go today over lunch.  I honestly think that is the only thing that is keeping me going right now.  Yesterday I did 40 minutes on the treadmill doing the Galloway method.  I managed to get up to 5.7mph while running, which did make me feel good.  Afterwards I did some good down dogs, pigeons, runner lunges and side stretches.  I really think stretching after running is making a HUGE difference in my soreness right now.

Dinner

Seeing it was about 9:45PM when I ate last night, I really didn’t care what I consumed.  Pierogies were sounding good and I knew they would be fairly quick. 

I had a piece of toast with spray butter while I waited for the pierogies to cook.

and then a few pierogies with some salsa and ranch dressing.  We were all out of sour cream. :(

Around 11PM, I had a little snack…the remaining 1/8 of my frozen Almond Joy.

Breakfast

I decided I needed as much sleep as possible, so instead of waking up at 6:30AM, I set the alarm for 7:30 and decided I would just run around like a madwoman and get out the door as quickly as possible.  This definitely meant a portable breakfast.  I just defrosted a frozen banana oat muffin.  It was my last one. :(   I put some spray butter on half and some PB on the other half.

And well, now that I look at my camera, I apparently didn’t take a picture of it.  That shows how crazy I am going!  Here is a stock photo that is close enough.

Lunch

My sandwich was amazing yesterday.  Toasted salami with a bit of cheese and mustard is apparently a taste of heaven…who knew.  I figured I should repeat this perfection.

and I made a spinach salad to have on the side with tomatoes, carrots and some honey mustard dressing.

Snacks

A complete re-do of yesterday.  The yogurt was fabulous.  The chunks of grains are wonderful and the fruit in it isn’t too sweet.  Nothing taste artificial or overly sweetened.  I will definitely buy these again.  So today I am having the raspberry kind.

This may be my last post before I leave.  I had these delusions of grandeur that I was going to write some post to put up while I was gone of the location I was in that day.  Today would have to go AMAZING for that to happen.  I still have a few errands to run tonight and I really want to spend some quality time with the hubbie before I leave.  I can’t believe that I will be on a plane in less than 24 hours…now I just need to survive today.

So far the only good thing that is coming out of being this stressed and this busy, I keep losing weight….

    Oh my gosh…I really need to stop complaining about my job. :-) I’m so sorry you’ve been stressed! I REALLY hope they don’t try to talk you out of your trip.

    So impressed that you can only eat candy bars in eighths! I eat them in (groups of) eight.

    I LOVE pierogies. Never had them with sour cream, but I will definitely have to try that!

    If you don’t get to post before your trip, have an AWESOME time. We expect to see a killer recap when you’re back! :-)

      Holly: haha and to think I used to complain about my job. :) They aren’t talking my out of the trip. It is a go and I’m getting super excited. I have to cut up candy bars and freeze them, otherwise I will eat the whole thing in one sitting too!!!

Summary



About Me: 28-year old, fairly newlywed (Spring 2007) that lives in Northern VA. Work full time, love my job, have an unfortunately long daily commute.

While an obsessive long distance runner, I am still trying to recover from 2 major knee surgeries. Atleast I am able to (semi) run again.

In the past, I definitely have not always fed my body correctly to support all the running I did. Simply put, my aim was to be the smallest weight/size possible. Now, my aim is to eat healthy, well rounded and simply to enjoy as much of life without worry about the calorie content and what the tenth of a pound the scale is showing me.
